With the start of the 2025 RallyX season fast approaching, announcements continue to pour in at the start of the year. The latest driver to confirm his intentions for a full season in the RallyX Euro League is Oliver Eriksson, who is undoubtedly one of the favourites for the title in the Open 4WD category.

The younger of the Eriksson brothers certainly needs no introduction. The Swedish driver already has an impressive list of achievements to his name. Having won the Supercar Lites title in Global Rallycross before securing back-to-back titles in the RX2 series in 2018 and 2019, Oliver has quickly established himself as a heavyweight on the international stage.

A two-time RallyX runner-up in the Open 4WD class in 2018 and 2019, he managed to bounce back from those disappointments by winning the title in 2020.

After that, Eriksson shifted his focus to the Nitrocross Championship in the United States and made occasional but impressive appearances in RallyX. Now, in 2025, he is set to return to European competition full-time, with a calendar that is sure to bring back fond memories for the young Swedish driver.

“It is fantastic to return to tracks like Montalegre and Valkenswaard, which shaped my childhood when I followed the Olsbergs-MSE team from behind the scenes while Tanner [Foust] was competing in the European Championship. In fact, it was in those same paddocks that I met the woman who would become my wife, so naturally I have a lot of great memories from that time,” Oliver reflects.

“Admittedly, I only raced at Montalegre once during my first season in Supercar Lites. It’s undoubtedly one of the best circuits in Europe and I can’t wait to return as the races there are always spectacular. On the other hand, I’ve never had the chance to race at Valkenswaard. It’s been a long time since I last visited the Dutch circuit, where I have so many fond memories. I especially remember our trips to the water park [Center Parcs – ed] just a few hundred metres from the track. It was truly an unforgettable time in my life”

Already responsible for the development of the FC2 – marketed by First Corner and designed by Olsbergs-MSE for the 2024 RallyX championship – Oliver knows his job won’t be easy in the coming months.

“The field is going to be impressive. Some of the drivers who will be competing are among the best in Rallycross, so the challenge will be considerable. Last year’s RallyX championship allowed us to further develop the FC2 product. Of course, we tested the car thoroughly to make sure that all the basic functions were working and to develop it further. I really think we’ve built a great car, but what we might be lacking compared to some of our rivals is that they had the chance to fine-tune their set-up during the official Nitrocross competitions last autumn.”

“I expect my rivals to have learnt a lot of new things and to have refined their understanding of how to maximise the car’s potential. However, I generally do well when I have to adapt to new environments, so I’m optimistic that we can have a great season.”
