After a year away from competition, during which the 19-year-old Belgian focused on making his debut in the Nitrocross series, Viktor Vranckx has now set his sights on the RallyX championship.

After two consecutive seasons in the Open 4WD category, Viktor finished an impressive tenth overall in 2022 at the wheel of his ZEROID X1, before narrowly missing out on the Pro Am title in 2023, finishing just behind Maiko Tamm.

One thing is for sure, the 2022 FIA RX2e champion is eager to get back behind the wheel in RallyX.

Now equipped with a Peugeot 208 Supercar from the Hedström Motorsport team – the same car that saw Peter Hedström win at Buxtehude in August 2024 – Viktor knows he has a top-class machine at his disposal.

“I have always loved competing in RallyX. It’s a fantastic championship with an incredible atmosphere in the paddock, where you can really feel the passion and mutual respect between the teams and drivers. What has motivated me most to come back is simply the exceptionally high level of the championship. On a personal level, I also want to continue to develop and push my limits by competing against the best drivers and I know that this Peugeot 208 is the perfect opportunity to do so.”

Having previously driven a Zeroid X1 and later an FC1, this will be Viktor’s first time at the wheel of a proper supercar.

“This is a dream come true for me. These Supercars are the ones I used to watch from the sidelines as a kid, so to get the chance to compete in RallyX with such a machine is an incredible feeling”

“I wanted to drive a car that was both strong and fast and the Peugeot 208 fits that description perfectly. I know it’s going to be a real challenge for me as I’ve never driven a Supercar before. I’ll have to learn how to use it to its full potential. It will be a learning curve, but that’s what makes this adventure so exciting.”

For the time being, Viktor will kick off his 2025 RallyX campaign at Valkenswaard, while prioritising key events in Nysum and Buxtehude.

“You’ll still see me in Rallycross, but I won’t hide the fact that 2025 will be a different season for me. I want to use the next few months to develop my skills and explore my potential by competing in other disciplines such as rallying, circuit racing and more. That’s why adding a race like Montalegre to our schedule is not part of the plan at this stage”
