Three-time British Rallycross Champion and a former leading figure in freestyle jet skiing, Jason Bleasdale is about to step into a whole new competitive arena in the coming weeks. Behind the wheel of his eye-catching Vauxhall VX220, he will be showcasing his driving skills with a full season’s programme in the RallyX South championship.
He is a name that could leave a lasting impression on rallycross fans. Staying true to British motorsport tradition, Bleasdale is sure to bring an extra layer of diversity to an Open 2WD category that continues to defy expectations.
Having dominated the 5 Nations Trophy Championship since 2021, the Hartlepool-born driver is now ready to test himself on the European stage against some of the continent’s best specialists.
“My decision to compete in the RallyX South Championship was an easy one. I quickly saw it as the best opportunity to compete against Europe’s top rallycross drivers on some of the sport’s most prestigious tracks”

Riding on the wave of success from his achievements in the UK, Bleasdale sees this challenge as a natural step forward in his career.
“It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up, and at the same time it felt like the logical next step after winning three British championships and an Irish title.”
Despite an impressive track record, Bleasdale approaches his first season in RallyX with humility.
“I have no specific expectations for the 2025 season other than to gain experience and enjoy myself.”
While he is taking a measured approach to this new venture, he will be relying on a Vauxhall VX220 that is sure to turn heads.
“The car is really unique. I built it myself in 2021 from a bare chassis. It’s rear-wheel drive, mid-engined, powered by a 2.5-litre Honda engine that revs up to 10,000rpm, with a gearbox from SADEV”
A fierce competitor, the British driver could well emerge as one of the major surprises of the 2025 season.
“I have always had a deep passion for motorsport and have competed in various disciplines over the years, including freestyle jet skiing, where I won seven British championships. Having followed rallycross for many years, it was a natural step for me to switch to this sport when I was looking for a new challenge”
