After Arthur Barbault-Forget and the Alexandre Janot/Pascal Lambec duo, Nicolas Beauclé is the fourth Frenchman to confirm his participation in the inaugural round of the Euro League RallyX championship at Montalegre.

A three-time champion of the French Division 3 Cup, Beauclé couldn’t resist the challenge of testing himself on the demanding Montalegre circuit. He will be behind the wheel of a Mercedes A-Class, the same car that has taken him to 11 wins and 19 podiums in the French Rallycross Championship over the past five seasons.

“I think it’s a fantastic idea for the RallyX championship to mix Division 3 cars with proper Supercars in the Open 4WD category, while still giving us a lot of technical freedom in the regulations,” says Nicolas.

For this event, the three-time French champion will switch from 16-inch to 17-inch wheels.

“From an aesthetic point of view alone, this will make the T3F cars look much more impressive. Technically, it won’t change much for us as we have everything we need in-house to make the necessary modifications to the gearbox.”

For the Frenchman, the decision to race at Montalegre is driven more by passion than pressure.

“My main goal is to experience and enjoy this RallyX championship, without the burden of managing a full season like in previous years. And personally, this will be my first race abroad. Let’s not forget that my experience in motorsport, apart from my Division 3 campaigns, is still quite limited.”

“It promises to be an exciting experience, although I hope we won’t be too far off the pace compared to the real Supercars. To be honest, I don’t have much insight into how the 17-inch wheels will affect performance, so I’m curious to see how that plays out. One thing’s for sure: I didn’t sign up for Montalegre just to make up the numbers. I hope we can put in a solid performance. If things go well, we might even consider adding another race to our schedule, with the Buxtehude round in Germany at the beginning of August.”
