After three consecutive seasons ending with a podium finish in the RallyX championship, Thomas Eek Murstad has officially confirmed his return to RallyX with a full season programme in the Euro League series.
Previously accustomed to racing mainly on Scandinavian tracks, the Norwegian driver has decided to increase his commitment by competing in all 13 rounds of the Euro League championship.
Behind this decision lies a great deal of deliberation during the off-season for Murstad and his team.
“We had long discussions over the winter about the best way to handle the logistics of such a demanding schedule, as well as the new technical regulations regarding engine options in the CrossCar category. However, we enjoy this championship so much that not returning was simply not an option,” explains Thomas Eek Murstad.
“We love the atmosphere of this championship as well as the fierce battles in the CrossCar category. The chronometer quickly shows who’s in and who’s out. If you fall behind, all you can do is work even harder to get back to the front as quickly as possible.”

Naturally, Murstad and his Speedcar chassis will line up for the season opener at Montalegre on 29-30 March as strong contenders for the prestigious Triple Crown (Euro League, North and South titles).
While Elias Svensson holds the all-time record for RallyX victories with eight, Murstad has the highest number of podium finishes with 12. Third in the RallyX championship in both 2022 and 2024, his best result remains the runner-up title he secured in 2022.
“I haven’t given the Triple Crown too much thought. In fact, it’s probably a good thing that I’m not fixated on it, because a title like that doesn’t come without immense effort and excellence. What is certain is that winning all three championships would almost eclipse the disappointments we’ve had over the past three seasons. To be honest, I can’t even begin to imagine what it would feel like to achieve something so incredible.”
There’s little doubt that the experienced Norwegian will be right up there when the RallyX series enters its final stretch next August.
